Kim Curtis
The
artists that I admire are various but I particularly admire those renowned
for their draughtsmanship and attention to detail. Artists such as Van
Eyck, Holbien, Durer, Canaletto, the pre-Raphaelites, Dali and Magritte.
But one of my main influences in terms of catching the essence of modern
life, the framing and composition of the scene, use of colour and application
of paint is Edward Hopper.
Inspired
by his work, I produced the following canvases over the last year. Some
worked and some didn't but the process taught me a lot that I have been
able to use in my illustration work.
