Peter
Taylor Ward studied technical drawing and draughtsmanship before going
on to study illustration at Falmouth School of Art and Design in Cornwall.
His work
has been used in books, on greetings cards and in various publications
for construction and property management companies.
However,
preferring the freedom that painting on a larger scale offers, he
has been increasingly working on large canvases in a looser style
that incorporates architecture, architectural detail and patterns
in nature inspired by his love of renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite Art.
Many
of his paintings feature Romanesque, renaissance and baroque architecture,
often creating composites from examples of these styles, whilst his
floral paintings show the influence of such artists as William Morris.
His work
ranges from highly detailed pen and ink drawings and watercolours
to very loose oil paintings on canvas.
He has
exhibited in Cornwall, Cheshire and London.
